This website tries to support itself through the sale of pictures. You can order any picture that you see on the UpstateHorse website by sending an email to "photographydept@upstatehorse.com". State the DCS number of the pictures that you want and in what form you want them.
There are far more pictures than what will fit on the website. People who are interested in pictures of their horsemanship should buy the CD which contains all of the pictures from the show, about 1,500 usually. Buying the CD alerts UpstateHorse of your interest and you will get more photography support at future shows.
Prices for 2008 are unchanged. Still cheap!
You can pull low resolution pictures directly off the internet. Just right click on the image and 'save as..' to your own computer. You may have two free low res pictures per month. After that, please pay 25 cents per picture. Payment can be made at the next horse show.
These low resolution copies are good for emails, viewing on a screen, or prints smaller than 3 x 5 inches. Do not use these low resolution images to make large prints because the image quality will be bad. If you are making larger prints, order the high resolution copy.
For high resolution pictures, email 'photographydept@upstatehorse.com' with the DSC numbers of the pictures you want and they will be emailed to you. The price is $1 each. Payment can be made at the next horse show.
These high resolution copies make great 8 x 10 inch prints. Larger prints are possible also. If you are making larger prints, it is highly recommended that you have UpstateHorse photoshop the picture first to maximize the quality (it only cost $5 extra).
We can make prints up to 8 x 10 for $5 per page. Since two 5 x 7s can fit on one page they cost the same as one 8 x 10 for example. These can be mailed for $5 extra (total, not each picture). Otherwise I will bring them to the next show. Payment can be made at the next show.
In the past our prints where a good deal, you did not have to buy a photo quality printer, just order prints from us. Recently, kiosks have sprung up (Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, etc) which make pictures just as good as our printer and at a fraction of the cost. This is a great example of technology making things better. If you have purchased the picture on CD or email then you can make the prints yourself. It is much cheaper and faster for you to do it yourself.
Contact 'photographydept@upstatehorse.com' for information about large prints. We bring them to AlphaGraphics. If you have bought the picture on CD or email you can bring the picture there yourself but it is recommended that you get the picture photoshopped first (UpstateHorse charges $5).
A CD containing all the pictures from any 2008 show costs $5. These can be mailed for $5 extra. Otherwise we will bring them to the next show. Payment can be made at the next show. Buying the CD lets you see all the pictures from the show and alerts UpstateHorse that you are interested in pictures which will trigger more pictures of you at future shows. In order to maximize the quality of the pictures we often take 2,500 pictures at a show and delete more than 1,000, keeping the best ones and the ones of people who have expressed an interest. Don't get left on the cutting room floor.
