How To Get Pictures - 2009

This website tries to support itself through the sale of pictures. If UpstateHorse covered your horse show then there will be a sampling of the pictures in the Gallery of this website. There are far more pictures than what will fit on the website. People who are interested in pictures of their horsemanship should buy a CD which contains all of their pictures. Buying the CD also alerts UpstateHorse of your interest and you will get more photography support at future shows.

Unlike many photographers, UpstateHorse does not sell prints, only electronic JPEG files. This is because UpstateHorse believes that you have many more uses for a JPEG file compared to a print. Also, you can make prints faster and cheaper than we can so we don't add much value there. When UpstateHorse sells you a JPEG we automatically give you the copyright so that you can legally make prints, send attachments to GrammaGrampa, turn the JPEG into a painting, or whatever.

Picture CDs

The pictures are organized by the horse.1 Pricing usually depends on how many divisions for which you want photography support. Check the price sheet at the show.

Prints

UpstateHorse no longer makes prints. In the past our prints where a good deal, you did not have to buy a photo quality printer, just order prints from us. Recently, kiosks have sprung up (Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, etc) which make pictures just as good as our printer and at a fraction of the cost. If you have purchased the picture on CD then you can make the prints yourself. It is much cheaper and faster for you to do it yourself. For prints larger than 8 x 10 you should resize and resample the image and get it printed on foam core. Often the printer will make those image adjustments for you. We recommend AlphaGraphics for prints on foam core or CanvasOnDemand for prints on canvas.

1 - If you bring one horse, lets call him Jasper, and daughter jumps him over 2' fences, Mom shows him in Adult Horsemanship, and son runs him around barrels then all those pictures would go on the one Jasper CD. A second horse would go onto a different CD.
